About Us

Welcome to the Dumfries Harriers Website

Members of Dumfries Harriers first came together in 1995 as Gates P.T. Running Club and finally evolved  into Dumfries Harriers in the summer of 2009.  The club has always prided itself on being friendly and non-elitist in its attitude and promises a warm welcome to anyone wishing to come along for a run irrespective of their ability.

Training Sessions

Monday 5pm {Keswick Centre} ~Track Session/Speed Intervals. Led by UKA Level 3 Coach

Tuesday 6pm {Keswick Centre} ~ 3 Groups, Easy, Moderate & Fast.

Wednesday 6pm {Keswick Centre} ~ Beginners Group, Led by experienced Group Leaders 

Thursday 6pm {Keswick Centre} ~ Group Runs.

Friday 6pm {Keswick Centre} ~Track Session/Speed Endurance. Led by UKA Level 3 Coach

Sunday 2.30pm {Keswick Centre} ~ Strength & Conditioning Session. Led by UKA Level 3 Coach

Weekend ~ Long Group Endurance Runs.

Club Events 

 On 31st August this year the Club will launch the brand new Doonhamer 10k.  The race will Start & Finish in the newly refurbished Dock Park and runners will follow a fantastic route through the park and along the banks of the River Nith, crossing the river no fewer than 4 times in what promises to be a fantastic new venture for the club. In addition the club also organises two other excellent events.

In June each year the club organises the very popular Mabie Forest Trail Race and for the first time this year the race will be staged in association with Accounting Directly.com.Ltd. Entries are available for the Mabie race online via the link on the Club Races page.

An event that has been slowly evolving during the last three years is the Glenkiln 12 This event takes place in March and with a new race sponsor Robison Construction now onboard, plans are being put in place to develop the event further and the Glenkiln promises to be a firm early season favourite in years to come.

Membership of Dumfries Harriers costs just £18 per year, £10 for under 21's, and you are welcome to come along to a Club Night and experience Dumfries Harriers first hand without obligation.
