Welcome to the Dumfries Harriers Website

Members of Dumfries Harriers first came together in 1995 as Gates P.T. Running Club and finally evolved  into Dumfries Harriers in the summer of 2009.  The club has always prided itself on being friendly and non-elitist in its attitude and promises a warm welcome to anyone wishing to come along for a run irrespective of their ability.

Training Sessions

Monday 6pm {Dock Park} ~Jog Scotland Group Session. Led by UKA Level 3 Coach

Tuesday 6pm {Keswick Centre} ~ 3 Groups, Easy, Moderate & Fast. 1st Tuesday each month, Group run at Crichton

Wednesday 6pm {Keswick Centre} ~ Jog Scotland Group Session/ Beginners & Intermediates.

Thursday 6pm {Keswick Centre} ~ Group Runs. 2nd Thursday of month~Hill Session.

Friday 6pm {Keswick Centre} ~Track Session/Speed Endurance. Led by UKA Level 3 Coach

Sunday 10am {Keswick Centre} ~ Strength & Conditioning Session. Led by UKA Level 3 Coach

Weekend ~ Long Group Endurance Runs.

Club Events 

 On the last Sunday each August the Club organises the Doonhamer 10k.  The race Starts & Finishes in the newly refurbished Dock Park and runners follow a fantastic route through the park and along the banks of the River Nith, crossing the river no fewer than 4 times in what is a fantastic new venture for the club.

In addition the club also organises two other excellent events.

  in June each year the Club organises the very popular Mabie Forest Trail Race , while in March the club stages the Glenkiln 12 in association with race sponsor Robison Construction . Plans are being put in place to develop the event further and the Glenkiln promises to be a firm early season favourite in years to come.

Membership of Dumfries Harriers costs just £18 per year, £10 for under 21's, and you are welcome to come along to a Club Night and experience Dumfries Harriers first hand without obligation.
